Christina Patterson is an Associate Professor at University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Patterson studies macroeconomics and labor economics, with a focus on how the structure of the labor market affects the economy’s response to shocks. Her research combines surveys, large administrative datasets, and standard macroeconomic frameworks to revisit classic questions in macroeconomics, such as the effects of monetary policy on employment or how inflation affects workers. Patterson earned a PhD in economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and holds a BA in mathematics and economics from Columbia University. Prior to entering academia, Patterson spent time as a research associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
